I thought this paper was very informative and provided the reader with a lot of useful information. The SDS model was explained quite thoroughly. I like how it expands beyond manipulating length and complexity of utterances in helping to achieve more fluent productions. I think that therapy for a child who stutters would be more beneficial for everyone involved if this model were to be used. The important thing that this paper pointed out was that one can center his/her therapy around specific situations that focus on a topic of interest. I agree with that because I think children would be hard to keep focused during a treatment session. By having a topic of interest that one can plan activities and games around in order to produce more fluent speech, a successful therapy session can be obtained. What specific age group does the SDS model work best for? (I know it mentioned kids, but was just curious as to an exact age.) Also, at what level of mastery, does one start making systematic manipulations within the three domains?
