The First Time

By Brandon Hall, age 11

The first time I ever noticed I stuttered was when I was four years old. I repeated the same word many times. The kids just started laughing at me. I felt really bad. So, I started going to speech class when I was ten years old. My teacher in school thought I was doing this to get attention. My speech teacher Elena says to use easy starts and smooth connected sentences when I talk. I think it really helps because I don't stutter as often as I used to.
