On Thursday, January 3rd, Carol Stallkamp was surprised with a visit from the YWCA Persimmon Women Committee honoring her with a SHERO (She Helps Everyone Realize Opportunities) award. The award is given to women who make a significant, positive impact on the community every day. They contribute to their family, their workplace, through volunteer commitments and in endless other ways.
The President’s Commission on the Status of Women nominated Carol for the SHERO award due to her dedication and commitment working with the Commission. A sample of what was written follows: “On behalf of the President’s Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW), we want to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude for Carol Stallkamp. Carol provides guidance and encouragement for the PCSW, and has always been a great source of support. Her enthusiasm and love for Minnesota State University, Mankato is contagious. Carol inspires others to do their best and we have been fortunate and honored to have her assistance for the PCSW. With Carol’s dedication to the PCSW mission, we have moved forward in many new initiatives that will benefit women employees on campus. Her contribution to the PCSW cannot be overstated. Carol has been influential with our group by her generosity, spirit and willingness to help the PCSW. Her contributions to our Commission have been invaluable. We will be forever thankful and grateful for all that she has done for our Commission….”
