Bill Wiltgen '80

Bio

I was raised in Rochester, Minnesota, and am a first-generation college graduate. One of my accomplishments as a senior at John Marshall High School in 1971 was placing fifth in the 440-yard dash at the Minnesota State High School Track Meet. I attended the College of St. Thomas on an athletic scholarship for one year and then joined the Army. After my army career, I attended Rochester Community College where I obtained an AA Degree in Electronics Engineering Tech. I continued my college education at Minnesota State Mankato, where I obtained a BS in Electronics Engineering Tech and also a BS in Computer Science. Upon graduating, I started working for E-Systems (later acquired by Raytheon) where I worked for more than 34 years. I retired in 2014 as a Director Cyber Security – Domestic and International. Since my retirement, I have returned to Minnesota State Mankato and lectured classes on my career with hopes of encouraging/inspiring students to follow their dreams—like I did.
