As a member of the Honors Program, students have a chance to live in the Honors Learning Community. First-year Honors students are expected to live in the learning community, unless they live at home in the Greater Mankato vicinity, or with their athletic teammates in another section of the dorms.  Learning communities allow students to live with people who share common interests, and help build friendships with floor activities and other events. ´╗┐Students in the Learning Community will be assigned to renovated double rooms (Crawford A, B, D, McElroy E, F, H or Preska I).  Renovated rooms have in-room air-conditioning and share a community bathroom with the floor.

Students can also enjoy a community kitchen complete with a stove, oven, double sink, and microwave. The hall also has a laundry room with two sets of washers and driers. The laundry room is free to students, but students must supply their own detergent. There is also a student lounge where many students enjoy studying, doing floor activities, or simply hanging out with friends throughout the day. Renovated spaces have new paint and carpet as well, making the space a very modern and comfortable place to live.
