    Don't be homeless: Arrange Your Housing

 

 

There are several student-friendly housing option in Mankato, however, both on and off-campus housing fill quickly in advance of the Fall and Spring terms. 
 

Residential Life Housing (On-Campus Housing and Apartments)

Please beware that on-campus housing fills up quickly. So if you are planning on staying on-campus, you must reserve a room with the Office of Residential Life and make a pre-payment as soon as possible. Please visit Residential Life to check for the housing check-in schedule and hours of operation.  You will be required to make a $250 non-refundable deposit to hold your space.  Please request early check-in so that you can stay in university housing during orientation.

                                                                                 

Off-Campus Housing (Living outside of campus, for example in an apartment/flat—$250-450/month)

Moving into an unfurnished apartment? Check out CORT furniture. They can deliver and set up a full apartment of furniture so that when you arrive, all you need is your luggage! Student packages beginning at $99 per month with a 12 month lease.

Looking for off-campus housing from your home country can be challenging, but it is not impossible. There are several resources available to you online and several communities that can offer some help.  The office of Student Activities maintains a web site for students that are looking for new roommates and apartments close to campus.  You can locate and review ads online. Make sure to pay attention to the word utilities when you are looking for a place to live. This can include water, heating, cable, phone, internet, electricity, etc. Utilities may or may NOT be included in your rent. If they are not included in your rent, you will need to budget for them—a typical monthly utility cost may range from $50-150 depending on how many roommates you have and where you live.  You can visit Craig’s List, but be cautious as there have been numerous reports of fraud, some involving students looking for apartments.

 

  • The Summit and Jacob Heights- Many apartment units are already furnished! Other amenities include an outdoor hot tub, a recreation center, a 24 hour fitness center, and much more!. View rooms, rates and availabilty on their webpage

        

     
  • Briargate, Southridge, Preserve, and Cachet Apartment Complex welcome international students with amenities and facilities that fit a variety of lifestyles, such as a cultural celebration space, cleaning services, roommate matching, and even bidet installation. Visit their website to learn about rates and availability of this property.

           

  • Highland Hills Apartments, also with availability, are offering a rate of $200 per month per bedroom in it’s 5 bedroom units. They are also offering some furnished units for $330 per person, per month. They are the closest to campus. Visit their website to learn about rates and availability of this property.
