Software and Application Support

Desktop Support (Software, Computers, Printing, Entrance/Exit Forms, etc.) MNSU - Standard available

IT Solutions Center provides installation and support for software and applications for employees and students, this includes helping with the installation, support, and troubleshooting for licensed software and applications. There may be fees associated with this service if it is on a personal device.

  • Faculty and Staff

    The availability and cost of software varies according to your University role, type of device you have, and the software needed. ITS will provide software installation to both individuals and departments. This is available from the IT Solution Center for all campus-licensed software as well as software licenses purchased through the Campus Computer Store (charges may apply for installation on personally-owned devices).
     
     Assistance removing malware from computers is also available. This includes the removal of computer viruses, worms, trojans, spyware and other forms of malicious software.

    Software Downloads http://www.mnsu.edu/its/started/downloads.html which will include the Microsoft Home Use Program. This program allows Employees of Minnesota State Mankato to PURCHASE and download ONE (1) copy of Microsoft Office Professional  for Windows or Mac at a significantly reduced price for use on an employee's personally-owned computer.

  • Students

    Assistance with software installation and troubleshooting. Charges may apply.

    Operating System installations: Windows, Mac and Dual Boot Mac. Charges may apply.
     
    Virus protection: Assistance removing malware from computers is available through the IT Service Desk. This includes the removal of computer viruses worms trojans spyware and other forms of malicious software. Charges may apply. Actively enrolled students can download a current version of Virus protection software at no charge. Installation is available through the software download page at http://www.mnsu.edu/its/student_software/.
     
    Data back up service are available, charges will apply.
     
    MavApps http://my.mnsu.edu/mavapps/ is an on-demand application/software delivery solution that enables users to access and use applications such as SPSS and others from anywhere with internet and a device (Mac Windows Linux Android iOS). Using MavAPPS provides the same level of access as using a regular workstation on campus.
     
    Licensing Request: Availability and cost of software varies according to your college and device. ITS will provide software installation assistance to both individuals that are enrolled students. This is available from the IT Solution Center for all student-licensed software as well as software purchased through the Campus Computer Store (charges may apply for installation).
     
     
    For Residence Community Students: 
    ResTech Services http://www.mnsu.edu/its/restech/ offers comprehensive computer support to Residence Community students only. Support is offered at no cost to the student. ResTech Services provides students living in the residence hall communities with assistance installing operating systems, antivirus, software and web browsers. ResTech Services will also provide troubleshooting support to resolve operating system performance issues as well as removal of viruses and malware.
