One-Sided Printing Instructions

Page address:

MavPRINT will print on both sides of a sheet of paper by default. This is called two-side printing. You can print on a single side of the paper (one-sided printing) if you follow the instructions below.

Note: although more pieces of paper will be used, your cost of printing will be the same since you are charged per page printed and not by the number of pages printed on. Similar to a newspaper or book, each piece of paper has the potential to print one or two pages. You will only be charged for the amount of pages printed.

Print on One Side of the paper (Simplex Printing)

How to do it:

  1. In Office 2007 applications click the Office button and Print (or press Ctrl-P)

(Other applications click the “File” menu, select “Print”)
    File Print

  2. In the print window that appears, click the “Properties” button in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. In the new window, click on the "Printing Shortcuts" or “Layout” tab.
  4. Click "General Everyday Printing" as shown below and verify that the "Print on both sides:" field is set to "None."

Note how the paper icon changes.

  5. Click “OK” to submit your print job to the MavPRINT queue.

Things to Remember

When you change to one-sided printing, it will remain for the duration you are logged into the campus lab computer.

If you use your laptop and it is set up to print to MavPRINTBW, it should automatically print two-sided. If not, you may need to change the properties to print two-sided or two-sided manually.
