Office 365 for students, faculty and staff
Microsoft Office 365 is a whole collection of applications and services, most of which are provided free to MSU faculty, staff and students.
For all Students, faculty and staff:
- E-Mail: 100 GB of e-mail storage, calendaring, contacts, tasks and instant messaging all integrated with campus address books. E-mail can be read, composed and sent using any web browser or any favorite e-mail app. E-mail clients that use Active Sync can also be remotely wiped and secured in event the device is lost or stolen to prevent unauthorized access to messages.
- OneDrive: 5 TB (5,000 GB) personal online file storage and online, real-time collaboration and editing of Microsoft Office documents. Documents can be shared with MSU clientele or anyone in the world providing read-only or editing capability.
- Office Online Apps: Ability to create, edit, print, and share Office documents using any web browser on any device without the need to have Microsoft Office installed on the device. Many people can simultaneously read and edit any Online Office App and changes are displayed and saved in real time. Office apps provides a rich set of Office features to create and present documents, and if advanced capabilities are needed, the document can be opened in a full version of the Office app and saved to OneDrive.
- Office On Demand: Streams MS Office application(s) to your computer without installing MS Office on that computer. Very useful if you want to work on an Office document on a computer, but the latest version isn't installed on it. When you close the MS Office application, it goes away since it's not installed on the computer.
- Yammer: Collaborate, communicate and share information with class members and/or co-workers. Similar to Facebook, but is part of MSU and the MSU community.
