Scandinavian Studies B.A. Major

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) major in Scandinavian Studies requires 32 semester credits, including a core of language courses (usually at least two years), a 3 credit "capstone" experience, and approved electives from other disciplines. MSU students carrying 12 semester credits may take a course at Gustavus Adolphus College that is not offered at MSU while paying MSU tuition.

If you are interested in focusing on Scandinavian languages and literature, you may choose to major in Scandinavian Studies, but we also strongly encourage you to pursue a second major in another B.A. program or even two minors that will complement your interdisciplinary studies. One minor is required.

You will work closely with a Scandinavian Studies advisor to develop a course of studies that offers flexibility to suit your needs and interests.   Contact: renessa.jessup@mnsu.edu    Scandinavian Studies Director
