23rd Annual Quality Recognition & Awards Banquet

At MACQ's October 18, 2012, awards banquet, individuals, companies, and public institutions received recognition for their attention to quality. The event was held in the Heritage Hall at South Central College, North Mankato.

Two individuals were awarded plaques for their leadership and service.

• MACQ Leadership Award: Matt Chmielewski, Pioneer Bank
• MACQ Service Award: Eric Raverty and Brian Smith, Nortech Systems Inc

Several individuals were awarded "Above and Beyond" crystal awards for going above and beyond what is normally expected and providing exceptional service to their customers.

• Shirley Piepho, Minnesota State University, Mankato's University Scheduling Officer
• Mocol Brothers (George, Tom, and Joe), of Mocol's Supermarket

Two "Corporate Award" plaques were issued; one for the Open Door Health Center's dedication to their patients; and one to Minnesota State University, Mankato's Facilities Management group (130 workers) who are responsible for maintaining the infrastructure of MSU and providing a great physical environment to students, faculty, other MSU employees, and campus guests and visitors.

One Quality Management System Certification plaque was awarded this year to a company who has accomplished one or more of the ISO (International Standards of Operation) quality certification processes.

• Kato Cable. Kato Cable was certified to ISO 9001:2008. The company completed its stage two audit on 4/5/12 and received its ISO certificate 9/11/12.

Additionally, there were individuals who spoke about bringing quality to services they have experienced.
