Maverick 'Machine' Pep-Bands

Page address:

The Maverick 'Machine' pep-bands form following the Marching Band season and are normally comprised of members who have marched in the marching band.  We take the group and split it into two to form a Purple and Gold band that performs at Hockey, Basketball, and some other athletic events.

Membership in the Pep-Band is not required of all marching members, but it is something that most of our members continue to do.  Our athletic teams are very successful so it is fun to participate in each of the different ensembles and perform for the varying sporting events that the Machine performs for.

Why should I join the Maverick Machine?

By joining the Maverick Machine you will be joining the largest student organization on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato.  You will have the opportunity to perform for thousands of amazing Maverick fans in one of the most unique collegiate marching ensembles in the upper Midwest.  You also get into Athletic events for FREE and have the opportunity to travel with our many excellent Maverick teams.

The most important reason is because you will instantly become a part of the #MavFam, creating life-long friendships as a part of the Maverick Machine family - GO MAVS!

The pep-band rehearses 1 time a week following the marching band season to add several more pieces of music to our repertoire.  It is important to the staff to respect the time that our students invest into the ensemble.  We do not require an overly intensive schedule, but rather we use our rehearsal time to the max.  During our rehearsal time we work to present a quality production at each of our performances.  Once we have learned all of the music we will be performing we will no longer rehearse during our regularly scheduled meeting time.  For more rehearsal information please contact Mr. Thursby directly.

Students who participate in the Maverick Machine have the opportunity to receive money for doing so.  Incoming freshman can audition/apply for Talent Grants and returning members can apply for Music Scholarships.  For more information please click the Scholarship link below.
