Provost Search Process Update
Applications reviewed, initial interviews to begin later this month.
Minnesota State University, Mankato Media Relations Office Announcement, 2-8-2013
Minnesota State University Mankato Community,
We are pleased to provide you with an update regarding our Provost search. Over the last two months, the search committee members have had the opportunity to review a strong applicant pool, including all candidates’ credentials through our consultant’s secure website. In December and again earlier this month, the search committee met to conduct preliminary screenings of prospective candidates and to identify individuals for face-to-face interviews.
The search committee will be conducting our first round of interviews later this month. We will also be conducting preliminary reference checks on the candidates who emerge from our initial interviews. We will identify a smaller group of these candidates to invite to campus. In addition to a second, extended interview with the search committee, time will be set aside exclusively for members of the faculty, staff and students to meet with each candidate while they are on campus. We are tentatively planning for these visits to take place during early and mid-March.
Although we have attempted to be as transparent as possible about the progress of the search, a search of this sort requires great confidentiality concerning the names of the candidates themselves. We want to assure you that the search is on track, and we appreciate the trust that has been placed in us for this important work.
