April 20: 'The Big Event'
Students, faculty, staff to perform community service in greater Mankato area.
Mankato, Minn. – The Minnesota State University, Mankato Community Engagement Office is organizing a day of community service activities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 as part the “Big Event” day taking part at more than 70 college and university campuses nationwide.
The “Big Event” in the greater Mankato area is intended to promote campus and community unity with students, faculty and staff participating in a variety of community service projects. The community service is a way of expressing gratitude for the support of the surrounding community.

Students, faculty and staff who are interested in volunteering during the Minnesota State Mankato “Big Event” may send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com for more information.
Businesses, residents, and non-profit organizations interested in hosting volunteers at their job site on April 20 may send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
Volunteers who have signed up should arrive at 9 a.m. at the check-in area (Lot 21—Orange lot—across Stadium Road from University Square). Volunteers will be given their required tools and directions and sent to their designated job sites. When their tasks are completed, they will return to Lot 21 to receive a free lunch and participate in some fun activities.
Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 15,413 students, is part of the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities system, which comprises 31 state institutions.
