Uniface 8 Upgrade 6/13 - Northern Region Only
MSU will be upgraded on 6/20/2008.
After intense planning and testing we are moving ahead with the Uniface 8 upgrade. We feel confident that the issues that we experienced in the previous roll-out have been dealt with and should not be problematic again. The campuses that will be upgraded on Friday morning, June 13, are the Northern Region Colleges & Universities only:
- Minnesota State University Moorhead
- Minnesota State Community & Technical College
- Bemidji State University
- Northwest Technical College-Bemidji
- Northland Community & Technical College
- Rainy River Community College
- Hibbing Community College
- Itasca Community College
- Mesabi Range Community & Technical College
- Vermillion Community College
- Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College
You can expect access to Uniface on the Northern Region server to be down between 4:30 and 6:00 A.M. while we do the cut over and verification.
For the most part, the application in Uniface 8 should look and act just like it did in the Uniface 7 version. One change that you may notice is an adjustment to the inactive client application shutdown time which is now 1 hour (it was previously 2 hours). If the ISRS Uniface 8 client application sits idle for more than 1 hour (minimized to the application startup bar) on the Windows work station, the client application will shut itself down and display a message to the user that it has done so. This change will help minimize resource utilization.
The temporary issues reported in February with the ACT Tape Load, Cost Allocation, and Automatic Bank Reconciliation processes have all been fixed. All functions will work as they do in Uniface 7 today.
We plan to complete the upgrade for the rest of the campuses next week-end, June 20. We will keep you updated as we move forward.
