Communications Project Needs Staff Feedback

Office of the Chancellor ITS Project Status Update

MnSCU's work on the ISRS Communications Module needs user feedback from university staff.

The Communications Project continues to make progress. On September 10th the Communications Project task force members participated in the second user feedback session (UFS) where they were able to give input on the work completed around creating a message. The task force also met after the UFS where plans for the 3rd iteration of the project were discussed along with discussion around the data elements that will be needed for the piece that will aid them in selecting the recipients for a message.

The next UFS for the task force members has been scheduled for October 28th and will be held via WebEx as the new features to be reviewed are merely an extension of previously developed features and would not warrant the drive time for the task force. In the meantime, several "show and share" sessions via WebEx were held to give non-task force members a chance to see how the project is coming along. Anyone who wishes to view a recorded session of the last show and share can find it online.

In addition to the work that is taking place to port the existing letter generation functionality to a web-based solution for the marketing and admissions user community, the team has begun discussions and research around the sms text and e-mail delivery methods for messages. While these pieces of functionality are not currently scheduled to be available at the time that the letter generation piece is in pilot stage, design decisions being made now must account for that added functionality.
