Impact of 9/11 attack to be discussed Sept. 8

Roundtable discussion about impact of 9/11 is Thursday.

This month marks the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center, and a roundtable discussion marking the anniversary will be held Thursday, Sept. 8, at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

The discussion, featuring four Minnesota State Mankato professors, is intended to provide an analysis of the impact of the attack on American society, politics, foreign affairs and culture. The event, at 4 p.m. in Rooms 253/4/5 of Centennial Student Union, is free and open to students, faculty, staff and the public.

Analyses will be provided by Government faculty members Abdalla Battah and Jeff Bumgarner and History faculty member Matt Loayza, with Lori Lahlum (History) moderating. After the presentations, members of the audience can share their thoughts and question the panelists.

The event is sponsored by Minnesota State Mankato’s Department of History.
