Campus Kitchen food project seeks holiday volunteers.

Minnesota State University, Mankato Media Relations Office news release [12/7/2011]

Minnesota State Mankato’s Campus Kitchen food project needs volunteers this month to replace student volunteers who are returning home to spend Christmas with their families.

Starting Monday, Dec. 12, and continuing through Jan. 5, 2012, Campus Kitchen needs volunteers on Mondays and Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to package meals, and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to deliver meals.

The volunteers package food that is donated by University Dining Services and local restaurants, and then distribute it to local agencies to feed hungry, low-income families.

The Minnesota State Mankato program is a partnership among Student Activities, University Dining Services, student-run service organizations, university service learning programs and community agencies.

Those who want to volunteer may contact Denise Billington-Just, assistant director for community engagement, at 389-5783 or Those who want more information about Minnesota State Mankato’s Campus Kitchen project may click on
