Sept. 21: Hall of Champions Reopening

President Richard Davenport to speak at 1:30 p.m. ceremony.

Minnesota State University, Mankato Media Relations Office, 9-13-2012

Mankato, Minn. — Big improvements to the Brock-Otto Hall of Champions in the Taylor Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato will be featured at a reopening ceremony in the hall on Friday, Sept. 21 at 1:30 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend without charge.

The Hall of Champions was part of the original design for the Taylor Center, which opened at Minnesota State Mankato in 2000. The hall, just outside Bresnan Arena, includes large photo banners and six display cases that feature the University’s heritage, academics, athletics, student life and alumni.

The renovation of the Hall of Champions has transformed it in several ways. All of the display cases have been redesigned by streamlining their content and making them more visually striking. New lighting has been installed inside the cases and in the hallway, new signage has been added to each case, and new full-color photo banners have been added above the cases.

The project has been a collaboration of the University’s Integrated Marketing Team and the Archives staff in Library Services, with support from Facilities, Printing Services and Intercollegiate Athletics. It was done at the request of Dr. Richard Davenport, president of Minnesota State Mankato, who will speak at the brief ceremony.
