The partnership between Minnesota State University, Mankato and the National Basketball Association's Minnesota Timberwolves is highlighted in a feature article written by Mark Remme and posted on the Minnesota Timberwolves website.

Remme described how Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor, a Minnesota State Mankato alum, has emphasized a continued partnership between the NBA franchise and his alma mater.

Remme wrote that Timberwolves President Chris Wright said it's a partnership that both the school and franchise take tremendous pride in nurturing.

“Much more than basketball,” Wright said to Remme for the article. “Really the way that we look at it and the way Glen would tell you he looks at it, is that we should be doing anything we possibly can [to help] the students who go to that university who we believe are the leaders of tomorrow. And what we can do to help them along their professional path, giving them work experiences, experiences that allow them to grow. And to become really sort of productive corporate citizens once they leave college.”

For the article, Remme spoke to Minnesota State Mankato Vice President of Strategic Business, Education and Regional Partnerships Robert Hoffman, Vice President of Finance and Administration Rick Straka, Athletic Director Kevin Buisman and Associate Athletic Director-Communications Paul Allan.
