Jan. 14-31: David Rowe Art Exhibit

“Latent Landscapes” on display in Conkling Gallery.

Mankato, Minn. –Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Conkling Gallery will be hosting an art exhibit titled “Latent Landscapes” by artist David Rowe from Jan. 14 through Jan. 31, 2013. The exhibit will be on display in 139 Nelson Hall.

Rowe will be in the Nelson Hall Sculpture and Ceramic Labs Jan. 30-31 for a Studio Residency.

Gallery house are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and some evenings as coverage permits. An enrichment lecture will be held on Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. in Centennial Student Union room 284, followed by a reception in the Conkling Gallery. Call 507-389-6412 for more information.

Rowe was born and raised in Champaign, Ill. He attended University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for his bachelor of fine arts degree and Indiana University Bloomington for his master of fine arts degree. His work deals with issues of landscape and the psychological implications of the Midwestern American Experience.

Row received an Efroymson Family Fund contemporary artist fellowship in 2011, and his work will be on display during the upcoming national survey show “Crafting a Continuum.”

Rowe lives and works in Bloomington, Ind., and is also a visiting assistant professor at Indiana University in Bloomington.
