Mankato, Minn. – Deb Sokolow, a Chicago-based artist and writer whose large-scale, text-driven drawings and artist books have been exhibited nationally and internationally, will give an artist’s lecture at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 18 in Ostrander Auditorium, located in Minnesota State University’s Centennial Student Union.

The lecture is free and open to the public.

Sokolow will also participate in a studio residency from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 18 and 19 in the Nelson Hall Drawing Studios on the Minnesota State Mankato campus.

Sokolow received a master of fine arts degree from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago in 2004 and is an instructor in the Department of Art Theory & Practice at Northwestern University.

Sokolow’s lecture and residency are sponsored through the Nadine B. Andreas Endowment and are part of Minnesota State Mankato’s Art Enrichment and Andreas Endowment Series.
