Henry Morris Appointed Dean for Institutional Diversity

Morris has served as interim dean since 2010.

Mankato, Minn. – Henry Morris has been named the dean for Institutional Diversity at Minnesota State University, Mankato, effective July 1. Morris’ appointment was announced by Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs Linda Baer.

Morris has served as interim dean for Institutional Diversity at Minnesota State Mankato since 2010. Prior to his current position, Morris served as the executive director for Off-Campus Centers and Enrollment Management from 2007 to 2010 and was a Minnesota State Mankato Presidential Fellow from 2005 to 2007. He also served previously as director of Minnesota State Mankato’s Centennial Student Union and has held several positions in Student Affairs at Minnesota State Mankato.

Morris received a bachelor’s degree in history and government from Hamilton College and a master’s degree in education from the University of Rhode Island. He received his educational doctorate at St. Mary’s University (Minn.).

“I am pleased to announce, following a national search, that Dr. Henry Morris has agreed to serve as Minnesota State Mankato’s dean for Institutional Diversity,” said Baer in announcing the appointment. “His experience and leadership will allow us to continue to build upon the successful areas within the Division of Institutional Diversity at this university.”

Morris said he looked forward to serving as the university’s permanent dean for Institutional Diversity.

“I am excited to serve as dean for Institutional Diversity at Minnesota State Mankato,” said Morris. “Serving in an interim role since 2010 has allowed me to have a better understanding of what is needed and allows me to hit the ground running.”

Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 15,413 students, is part of the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities system, which comprises 31 state institutions.
