More than 2,300 Degrees to be Awarded

Approximately 1,500 students participating in May 11 graduation ceremonies.

Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato will award 2,364 degrees at the end of the spring 2013 semester, with approximately 1,500 students participating in three graduation ceremonies on Saturday, May 11.

Advanced degrees to be awarded include three doctorate of nursing practice degrees, three doctorate of education degrees and two doctorate of psychology degrees.

Graduate degrees to be awarded include 111 master of arts degrees, 31 master of fine arts degrees, three master of arts in teaching degrees, 13 master of business administration degrees, 16 master of public administration degrees, 184 master of science degrees, two master of music degrees, one master of social work degree and 18 specialist in educational leadership degrees.

To be awarded at the undergraduate level are 147 bachelor of arts degrees, 41 bachelor of fine arts degrees, 15 bachelor of athletic training degrees, 1,611 bachelor of science degrees, 20 bachelor of science in general engineering, 24 bachelor of science in civil engineering degrees, five bachelor of science in computer engineering degrees, 24 bachelor of science in electrical engineering degrees, 27 bachelor of science in mechanical engineering degrees, 32 bachelor of science in social work degrees and 31 associate of arts degrees.

One hundred thirty undergraduate students will graduate summa cum laude, 319 will graduate magna cum laude and 245 will graduate cum laude.

Total Minnesota State Mankato degrees awarded for the 2012-’13 academic year are 3,978 (including 1,614 who were graduated in December 2012). (NOTE TO EDITORS: The number of graduates does not equal the number of degrees because some students earn more than one degree.)
