Aug. 26-Sept. 11: Brian Frink's Art Displayed

Conkling Gallery display includes artist reception from 7 p.m to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9.

Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Art Chair Brian Frink is exhibiting his recent art on campus from Aug. 26 to Sept. 11 at the University’s Conkling Gallery, with an artist reception scheduled for Monday, Sept. 9 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Frink’s artwork will be on display at 139 Nelson Hall, the Conkling Gallery, during gallery hours (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday). The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Frink’s current work explores the genres of still life, portraiture, landscape and abstraction. He has been the recipient of many awards, including McNight fellowships, Minnesota and Wisconsin State Arts Board Grants, Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council Grants and Faculty Research Grants. He has exhibited his work regionally and nationally.

In addition to Minnesota State Mankato, supporting organizations for the exhibit include the Heliker-LaHotan Foundation and the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council.

Frink, who teaches painting at Minnesota State Mankato in addition to serving as department chair, was designated a Distinguished Faculty Scholar by Minnesota State Mankato in 2010.
