Community Engagement Presents ‘Nature’s Nook’

First fall weekend is Oct. 11-12.

Mankato, Minn. – The Minnesota State University, Mankato Office of Community Engagement announced plans to hold environmentally based story and activity times called “Nature’s Nook” for kids and families each month at Elk’s Nature Center at Rasmussen Woods (555 Stoltzman Road).

October’s topic, “Minnesota Fall and Our Colorful Foliage,” will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11 and Saturday, Oct. 12. Friday’s event is designed to engage pre-school learners and Saturday’s event will support students in third through sixth grades.
Upcoming dates include:
· Friday and Saturday, Oct. 11 & 12
· Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8 & 9
· Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13 & 14
· Friday and Saturday, Jan. 10 & 11

“Nature’s Nook,” a program free and open to the public, is a celebration of reading skill development, our natural world and Minnesota’s ever-changing seasons. Children should dress appropriately for weather conditions because hiking is an element of each session.
