Feb. 3-19: Jeffrey Dell Art Exhibit

Texas-based artist to display prints at Conkling Gallery.


 Mankato, Minn. – Texas-based artist Jeffrey Dell’s prints will be on display in an exhibit titled “Frenemies and Follies” from Monday, Feb. 3 through Wednesday, Feb. 19 in Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Conkling Gallery.

Dell’s exhibit is free and open to the public, and his work will be on display at 139 Nelson Hall, the Conkling Gallery, during gallery hours (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday).

Dell will deliver a public lecture at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 3 in Centennial Student Union’s Ostrander Auditorium, with a reception following in the Conkling Gallery. Dell is also doing a Studio Residency on Feb. 3-4 in the Nelson Hall Printmaking Studios.

The exhibit is made possible through the Nadine B. Andreas Endowment for Artists and Scholars in memory of Andreas’ lifelong devotion to the visual and performing arts.

Dell, who lives and works in San Marcos, Texas, is an associate professor of printmaking in the School of Art and Design at Texas State University-San Marcos, where he has been teaching since 2000. He grew up in Oregon and received a bachelor’s degree in 1992 from Hamline University. He also attended Bucknell University, serving as a non-degree graduate assistant, and received a master’s of fine arts degree in 2000 from the University of New Mexico.

Dell worked at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, Italy from 1998-2000, teaching print and book arts. He has exhibited in numerous national and international exhibitions and had two prints featured in the “New Prints: Autumn 2013” exhibition of the International Print Center New York. He is represented by Art Palace Gallery in Houston, Texas, and by Galleri Urbane, in Dallas, Texas.
