Event from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at University Square’s Chipotle Mexican Grill.

Minnesota State University, Mankato Media Relations Office Announcement, 2-3-2014

Mankato, Minn. – Chipotle Mexican Grill in University Square (1600 Warren Street in Mankato) is hosting a fundraiser from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6 to support the Mankato Area International Festival.

Half of the proceeds received from customers who mention the International Festival during the four-hour fundraiser will be donated to the Mankato Area International Festival.

The 2014 annual International Festival will be held Sunday, April 13, in the Centennial Student Union. One of the largest community events hosted in the CSU, the festival is organized through the university’s Elizabeth and Wynn Kearney International Center.

Doni Casula, Kearney International Center assistant director of international student and scholar services and the coordinator of this year’s festival, said money raised from the Chipotle Mexican Grill fundraiser will help to offset expenses of the festival’s free admission.

“Help us keep the International Festival fabulous and free,” Casula said. “Dine at Chipotle on Feb. 6 between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. and be sure and mention the festival fundraiser.”

The Mankato Area International Festival is one of Minnesota’s largest annual intercultural events, drawing an estimated 4,000 people to Minnesota State Mankato. For more information, go to or call the Kearney International Center at 507-389-1281.

Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 15,409 students, is part of the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities system, which comprises 31 state institutions.
