March 26-29: Studio Production of 'Trust'

Performances will be in Andreas Theatre.

Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Theatre & Dance News Release, 3-3-2014

Mankato, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Theatre & Dance will present its next Studio production, “Trust” by Steven Dietz, at 7:30 p.m. March 26-29 in the Andreas Theatre of the Earley Center for Performing Arts.

A hot young musician, Cody, has recently made the cover of “Rolling Stone” magazine. He is engaged to Becca, a publisher’s assistant; however, he is also interested in an older musician, Leah, who has become rather cynical about the business. They get tangled up with Gretchen, a dressmaker who once harbored a crush for Leah, Holly, a young bohemian who is interested in Cody, and Roy, a DJ who is interested in Holly. Who do you trust?

This debut production is directed by Michael Sheeks, a first-year MFA directing candidate. It features Amanda Forman (senior BFA acting candidate from Tiffin, Iowa), as “Gretchen”, Kendra Verhage (junior BFA acting candidate from Lawrence, Kan.), as “Becca”, Morgan LeClaire (senior BFA acting candidate from Cass Lake, Minn.) as “Leah,” Charliey Libra (sophomore theatre generalist from Roseville, Minn.) as “Cody” and TS McCormick (first-year MFA acting candidate) as “Roy.” All appeared in the last Mainstage production, “As You Like It.”

Individual tickets for “Trust” are $10 regular, $9 for senior citizens, youth 16 and under and groups of 15 or more, $8 for current Minnesota State students. They may be purchased online at, or by calling or visiting the Theatre & Dance Box Office in the lobby of the Earley Center for Performing Arts from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday-Friday. Call 507-389-6661.
