African Student Association holding event in CSU and Bresnan Arena.

Mankato, Minn. -- Minnesota State University, Mankato's African Student Organization announced today that they are holding a "Magic of Africa" event, featuring food and entertainment, on Saturday, March 22 on campus in Centennial Student Union and Bresnan Arena. 

Cultural food will be available between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the lower level of Centennial Student Union (must arrive before 6 p.m.). Entertainment begins at 7 p.m. in Bresnan Arena.

The campus community and general public are invited to attend this event. The cost is $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Admission is free for children ages 6 and under. Advance tickets are available for purchase online here.

The event will include words from Minnesota State Mankato President Richard Davenport, a professional drumming group, fashion show and performances by Khalib, Rich Goone, Ivorian Dance Group, Eritrean Dance Group and Chamina Dance.

The African Student Association is a student-run organization which focuses on fostering strong ties among fellow African students as well as promoting an infusion of culture on the Minnesota State Mankato campus. Its goal as an organization is to enhance the cultural experience for students with African roots as well as those seeking to immerse themselves in a diverse and inviting environment.

Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 15,409 students, is part of the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities system, which comprises 31 state institutions.
