March 28: Candlelight Vigil

Event begins midnight Friday and is intended to honor those living with domestic abuse.

Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Community Engagement Office will hold a candlelight vigil beginning at midnight on Friday, March 28 to honor those who live with domestic abuse and in remembrance of a community tragedy that occurred four years ago.

The candlelight vigil is open to the community and will be held at Elk’s Nature Center in Rasmussen Woods, which is located at 555 Stoltzman Road in Mankato.

The event will conclude with a ceremony from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 29.

The goal is to illuminate the park to “reclaim our hearts, homes, and communities as places of peace.”
