April 29: Jazz Spring Concert

University groups to perform.

MANKATO, Minn. – Director of Jazz Studies Douglas Snapp leads the Jazz Combos and Vocal Jazz Groups in a performance on Tuesday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.

The concert will feature a contemporary pop feel. The vocal portion of the concert features both a Daft Punk and a Michael Jackson medley and an arrangement of Lorde’s Royals. Music Major Laken Fennern has choreographed a number of dance sequences for the vocal groups.

The Jazz Combo will perform a number of Freddie Hubbard tunes. A new addition to the Department is the Garage Band Band. This group will perform combining pre-recorded programmed tracks with their live performance.
