Sept. 4: Dementia Care Conference

Mankato, Minn. – Naomi Feil, an internationally known developer of validation therapy for use with persons suffering from dementia, is the featured presenter at the 2014 Dementia Care Conference, presented Thursday, Sept. 4 by Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Chesley Center of Aging at Mankato’s Verizon Wireless Center.

During the conference, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 4 (check-in is from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.), Feil will provide a full day of training on “Validation,” her groundbreaking method for interacting with people experiencing dementia.

This conference provides continuing education opportunities for nurses, social workers, nursing home administrators, psychologists and chaplains. Seating is limited.

Feil speaks on the life-changing technique of Validation throughout North America and Europe. Since 1989 she has toured Europe 3 times a year offering workshops in Validation to participants in Germany, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, France, Belgium, Italy, Great Britain, and Austria. Her books have been translated into French, Dutch, German, Italian, Finnish, Danish, Swedish, Spanish and Japanese.

Feil who has a master of social work degree from Columbia University in New York, also holds an Academy of Certified Social Worker (ACSW) credential. Her biography is available at:
