Running Workshop to Address 'Mental Toughness Training'

Three-part workshop will be held Sept. 17, Sept. 24 and Oct. 1.

Minnesota State University, Mankato's Center for Sport and Performance Psychology is holding a three-part workshop series from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on each of the next three Wednesdays (Sept. 17, Sept. 24 and Oct. 1) that is intended to teach runners mental strategies to make their race days successful.

The workshop will be led by Dr. Cindra Kamphoff, a marathoner and member of the editorial board of Runner's World Magazine.

It is open to anyone interested in improving their running, but is designed for those registered for upcoming races held as part of the Mankato Marathon weekend (Oct. 18-19). High school runners are welcome.

Registration cost of the workshop is $50 per person, or $90 for those who also register a friend. Anyone who attended the workshop last year who registers two friends for this year may attend for FREE. To register, visit
