Men's Hockey Rated No. 1 for First Time in Program History
The Mavericks are ranked No. 1 nationally in the Jan. 12 USCHO.com poll, ahead of No. 2 Boston University, No. 3 North Dakota and No. 4 Harvard.

Mankato, Minn. --- Following a weekend sweep over Lake Superior State, the Minnesota State men's hockey program is rated #1 in the nation according to a poll released this morning by USCHO.com.
The Mavericks, who stand 16-4-1 overall and have gone 11-1-1 in their last 13 games, were rated fourth by USCHO last week. This week's ranking marks the first time Minnesota State has been rated #1 in the history of the program.

The Mavericks are also ranked No. 1 nationally in the Jan. 12 USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll (click and scroll HERE) and the college hockey Pairwise rankings, which mimic the NCAA postseason selection process.
Minnesota State now has three programs this year that have been rated #1 their respective sports with men's hockey joining women's soccer and football with that distinction. And men's hockey joins four other programs that have been ranked No. 1 in the nation in the history of Minnesota State Athletics - football (final five weeks of 2014 and final six weeks of 2013) men's basketball (Feb. 1, 2005), wrestling (twice in 2007-08 season), women's basketball (three times in 2008-09 season) and soccer (Oct. 16, 2012 and five consecutive weeks in 2014).
Minnesota State continues Western Collegiate Hockey Association action this Friday and Saturday with a pair of road contests at Ferris State.
