March 22: Brass Ensemble Recital
Minnesota Valley Trombone Octet and Minnesota Valley Brass Quintet to perform in Halling Recital Hall.

Mankato, Minn. – The Department of Music welcomes the Minnesota Valley Trombone Octet and the Minnesota Valley Brass Quintet for an afternoon of brass music performance on Sunday, March 22 at 3 p.m. in the Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.
The Minnesota Valley Brass Quintet consists of three former Department of Music professors: Stewart Ross, trombone; Tom Giles, trumpet; and Dave Schulz, horn. The group also includes current professors Doug Snapp, trumpet and Gerard Aloisio, trombone.
Joining Ross and Aloisio in the Minnesota State University Trombone Octet are area trombonists Sarah Houle, Mike Pegram, Nate Beran, Ryan Shirk, Dave Stordalen, and Amy Olsen.
The program unites classical and contemporary repertoire containing works of classical and contemporary composers: J.S. Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Victor Ewald, Raymond Pemru and Eric Ewazen.
