April 23: University Jazz Ensembles
Concert will be performed in Halling Recital Hall.

Mankato, Minn. – The Department of Music will host a performance of the University Jazz Bands Thursday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for the Performing Arts.
Dr. Douglas Snapp, Director of Jazz Studies, conducts the Jazz Mavericks. Mr. Erik Root conducts the University Jazz Lab Band.
This big band concert will feature a jazz/pop theme. The focus of the concert is on performing a wide variety of popular pieces and providing an opportunity for several students to solo.
The big band ensembles provide students with experience in a jazz ensemble along with several performance opportunities. The jazz literature performed in the ensemble ranges from classic to contemporary jazz to pop charts.
Concert admission is $9 for community members, $7 for students with a valid MavCARD. Discount tickets are available online for University students. Advance purchase is strongly encouraged.
