May 1-2: Spring Dance Concert

The Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Theatre & Dance will present its Spring Dance Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 1, and 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2, in the Ted Paul Theatre of the Earley Center for Performing Arts. Tickets are on sale at and

The concert includes pieces choreographed by Department faculty, Dr. Julie Kerr-Berry (Director of Dance) and Daniel Stark, as well as adjunct faculty member Allison Doughty Marquesen. Student choreographers are Sam Chmiel, whose piece will be presented on video before the show and during intermission in the lobby, Alina Fatieieva and Amber Hommer, who will present her piece, “Edges,” which was selected for performance during the Gala Concert at the recent American College Dance Association (ACDA) festival.

Tickets for the Spring Dance Concert are $10 regular, $9 discounted (over 65, under 16 or groups of 15 or more) and $8 for current Minnesota State Mankato students. They may be purchased online or at the Theatre & Dance Box Office in the lobby of the Earley Center for Performing Arts from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

A Student Dance Showcase of different pieces will be presented at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, in the Ted Paul Theatre. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased beginning at 1 p.m. in the lobby.
