Minnesota State University, Mankato Media Relations Office News Release, 8-27-2015

Mankato, Minn. -- Minnesota State University, Mankato's student-run campus programming board recently announced a name change. The group, previously known as "IMPACT," is now "Student Events Team."

The president of Student Events Team, Sarah Galaszewski, said the group’s rebranding is intended to create greater understanding of what Student Events Team does and allow more students to connect with the group.

According to its website, Student Events Team is “a student-led organization that produces fun, interactive, educational events where students make lifelong memories and celebrate their Maverick pride.”

The Student Events Team, supported by student activity fees, began the process of rebranding in 2013. The process included consulting the Minnesota State Student Association and the University’s Office of Integrated Marketing and also holding various listening sessions.

The Student Events Team consists of over 200 members ranging from first-year students to graduate students who volunteer and plan events throughout the year. Student Events Team committees
