Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Music News Release, 9-22-2015

Mankato, Minn. – The Maverick Machine Marching Band will present its inaugural indoor concert on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. The concert takes place in the Ted Paul Theatre of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.

Mr. Michael Thursby, Director of Athletic Bands, directs the marching band.

The Indoor Marching Band concert will feature up-tempo and exciting marching band music. The Maverick Machine will begin the concert with its traditional pre-game sequence that features "Fanfare for the Common Man" and the Minnesota State Mankato Rouser. Next, the band will perform traditional patriotic music that will be followed by the Maverick Machine’s halftime production "Lift-off" and other crowd favorites.

Freshman clarinetist Alicia Oren from North Mankato was a member of the Mankato Lancers for five years. Oren says, “I am very passionate about playing marching band music and wanted to take my playing to a higher level by joining the Maverick Machine.” She continues, “ I thought participation in the Maverick Machine would be a great opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. I have also found that the upper class members of the group are great mentors and are helping me to adjust to college life.”
