Annual Chiller Plant Shutdown Scheduled for October 23

Campus set to transition from cooling to heating on Friday, October 23.

On Friday, October 23rd 2015, the campus chiller plant will be shut down for the winter season to protect the cooling coils and towers from freeze damage.

A look at the extended forecast indicates that we should be able to keep the campus buildings comfortable using the cooler outdoor air. Typically, we can keep the buildings comfortable as long as the outdoor air temperature remains less than 70 degrees Fahrenheit. However, if we have an unseasonably warm day with elevated humidity levels, there may be a day or two that the temperature will get a little warm in your building.

Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated during this transition from cooling to heating. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Steve Ardolf, Chief Engineer, at 389-1332.
