Nov. 17: Great Clips CEO Rhoda Olsen to Present Truman Wood Memorial Lecture

Mankato, Minn. – Rhoda Olsen, CEO of Great Clips, will present this year’s Dr. Truman Wood Memorial Lectureship, titled “Cutting Edge: Social Sciences as a Path to Success,” Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 12:30-1:45 p.m. in Centennial Student Union’s Ostrander Auditorium at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Olsen (pictured), a 1975 alumna of Minnesota State Mankato’s Social Work Program, will focus her lecture on how the social sciences have helped her throughout her career. This event is free and open to the public.

Olsen was named the 2015 Executive of the Year by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. She has served as a guest professor for Minnesota State Mankato, the University of Minnesota and the University of St. Thomas. In November 2014, Olsen was named president of the International SalonSpa Business Network. In addition to her bachelor’s degree, Olsen earned a master’s degree in continuing studies from Minnesota State Mankato in 1982.

Great Clips, Inc. was founded in 1982 in Minneapolis and is the world’s largest salon brand and has 3,800 salon locations nationwide, according to its website.

The annual Dr. Truman Wood Memorial Lecture event is sponsored by Minnesota State Mankato’s College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Advisory Board and features alumni speakers.
