Dec. 6: Maverick Holiday Carnival

Free event is for families of children ages 4-10.

Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Community Engagement Office is sponsoring the Maverick Holiday Carnival, a free afternoon of fun and activities for families of children ages 4-10, on Sunday, Dec. 6 from 1-3:30 p.m. in the Centennial Student Union Ballroom.

The event, free and open to the public, is intended as a “spirit boost” for children in the community as well as a reminder to Minnesota State Mankato student volunteers, who begin fall semester final exams on Monday, that the stress of testing will soon be over (Friday, Dec. 11).

Minnesota State Mankato student organizations, teams, clubs, residential floors, classes and groups of friends signed up to for various carnival booths. The activities will include face painting and cookie decorating along with a variety of games.

“Seeing the joy and excitement of children during the holidays is contagious, and is sure to set everyone in a good mood for the week ahead,” said Karen Anderson, interim assistant director of community engagement at Minnesota State Mankato.
