Mankato, Minn. – The Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Theatre and Dance is looking for children to fill some very important roles in the upcoming Mainstage production of “Mary Poppins,” to be staged April 7-10 and 14-17 in the Ted Paul Theatre.

Public auditions will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, in the Ted Paul Theatre of the Earley Center for Performing Arts at Minnesota State Mankato.

The two lead children’s roles are Jane and Michael Banks. The department will be looking for a girl between the ages of 9 and 12 and a boy between the ages of 7 and 10 to fill the roles. Various other children will be cast in supportive roles.

Children need not prepare any material.

The beloved Disney musical follows the Banks children and their new nanny, Mary Poppins. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family how to value one another again.
