Minnesota State University, Mankato Media Relations Office Announcement, 3-7-2016

Mankato, Minn. -- Twin Rivers Council for the Arts will host Strata, a site-specific installation exhibition of three Minnesota State University, Mankato students in the Emy Frentz Arts Guild Gallery at 523 South 2nd Street in Mankato from March 17 until April 20.

The exhibition will feature the work of Minnesota State Mankato students Shelley Caldwell, Eli Rose and Shayna Tietje, each of whom is enrolled in advanced installation art courses at the University.

The public is invited to attend an opening reception on Thursday, March 17 from 5-8 p.m. at the gallery. Light refreshments will be served.

According to the Twin Rivers Council for the Arts, the three installations speak to the Emy Frentz Gallery's unique architecture while addressing the broad theme of strata. Strata can be defined as layers of material, naturally or artificially formed. Subtle layers are revealed as viewers experience the three featured installations from multiple vantage points.

The exhibit is sponsored by the Children's Museum of Southern Minnesota, through the Twin Rivers Council for the Arts Adopt an Artist Program.

Emy Frentz Arts Guild Gallery hours are from noon to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 4-8 p.m. on Thursdays.
