Faculty research excellence award recipients to be honored.

Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s College of Business will hold its annual research day event on Friday, March 25, with faculty research award recipients from 2015-16 and 2016-17 giving presentations.
The event will be held in Morris Hall 208, with breakfast served at 9:30 a.m., followed by presentations beginning at 10 a.m.
The 2015-16 Research Award recipients include faculty members Queen E. Booker, Ph.D. (Management), Jianwei Hou, Ph.D. (Marketing), Christine Brown Mahoney, Ph.D. (Management) and Stephen E. Wilcox, Ph.D. (Finance). Each will give an approximately 20-minute presentation of their research findings.
The 2016-17 Research Award recipients include faculty members Leon Chen, Ph.D. (Finance), Oksana Kim, Ph.D. (Accounting), Christine Brown Mahoney, Ph.D. (Management) and Byron Pike, Ph.D. (Accounting). Each will give an approximately 10-minute overview of their research project.
The purpose of the research awards is to promote and celebrate outstanding business research. All full-time and fixed-term faculty from the College of Business at Minnesota State Mankato are eligible to apply. A maximum of four research awards of approximately $5,000 are granted every year to support research activities such as data access, collection and analysis. The 2016-17 research awards mark the third year that the College of Business has presented research excellence awards to its faculty members.
To receive a research excellence award, the applicant must demonstrate superior scholarship as evidenced by recent publications in prestigious journals and a consistent record of influential scholarly works.
