Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Doctor of School Psychology program recently earned accreditation from the National Association of School Psychologists.

To celebrate, the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences will host a reception from 10-11:30 a.m. Friday, April 1, in the Heritage Room of the Centennial Student Union.

The accreditation was effective Feb. 1 and is valid for seven years, meaning that Minnesota State Mankato graduates can now obtain state licensure as school psychologists without having to secure national certification.

The program’s first graduates were granted degrees in May 2013. The program now has 13 graduates and 18 current students.
