March 30-April 2: David Mamet's 'Oleanna'
Play to be performed in Andreas Theatre.
Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Theatre & Dance News Release, 3-25-2016
MANKATO – Up next in the Minnesota State University, Mankato Theatre and Dance’s studio season is David Mamet’s “Oleanna,” described by the New York Times as a “two-character battle of the sexes (and the classes).”
A college student, Carol, drops by her professor’s office in an effort to gain his help to do better in class. John, the professor, in the midst of buying a house to celebrate his nomination for tenure, at first seems distant. As the first meeting progresses it seems as if a bond has been made. But appearances can be deceiving, especially for John.
Directed by Donald Hart, making his Minnesota State Mankato directorial debut, “Oleanna” will run 7:30 p.m. March 30 to April 2 in the Andreas Theatre, Earley Center for Performing Arts, Minnesota State Mankato.
Tickets are $10 regular; $9 for seniors ages 65 and older, children under 16 and groups of 15 or more; and $8 for Minnesota State Mankato students.
