David Falk Receives Distinguished Alumni Award

Mankato, Minn. – David Falk (pictured) of Waconia, Minn., recently received the 2016 Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Falk, the owner, president and CEO of Transport Security in Waconia, is one of eight 2016 alumni award winners. He was honored at an April 15 ceremony hosted by the Minnesota State Mankato Alumni Association. A YouTube video about Falk’s career is available online.

Alumni Achievement Awards go to graduates who have achieved high rank or honor in their professions and have had a major impact on their communities.

Falk, a 1969 business administration and economics graduate, was recognized for his philanthropic contributions to various organizations throughout Waconia. Many of his contributions centered on restoration of the city and historical buildings, education and beyond.

Through his leadership, Falk was able to deliver multiple improvements to benefit the citizens of Carver County, including but not limited to, the creation of Ridgeview Medical Center’s Emergency Communication and Dispatch Center; the installation of new elevators at Auburn Home, a senior healthcare facility; expansion and renovation of multiple areas of Ridgeview Medical Center and transportation for Waconia’s marching band.

Aside from his charitable contributions, Falk is also an active member of the Waconia Chamber of Commerce and has also served on the Waconia School Board, Ridgeview Foundation Board of Directors and The Moravian Church Board of Trustees. Falk currently sits on the Security Bank & Trust’s Board of Directors, is Treasurer of the Waconia Moravian Church and is a member of the Ridgeview Foundation Founder's Society. In 2002, he received the Waconia Community Service Award for his volunteer efforts.
