Student Dylan Loring to Facilitate Poetry Workshop at Emy Frentz Arts Guild

Loring, a master of fine arts candidate, will facilitate sessions on six Wednesdays this summer.

MANKATO, Minn. – A six-week poetry workshop, "The 7+ Wonders of Poetry," facilitated by Minnesota State University, Mankato student Dylan Loring, will be hosted by Twin Rivers Council for the Arts at the Emy Frentz Arts Guild throughout the summer.

Loring, originally from Des Moines, Iowa, is a master of fine arts candidate at Minnesota State Mankato, where he studies poetry. Loring teaches English composition and serves as a poetry editor for the Blue Earth Review. He is a former co-host of the 87.9 KMSU author interview program, the Weekly Reader, and has forthcoming poetry in the Minnesota Review.

The poetry workshop, "The 7+ Wonders of Poetry," will be held on six Wednesdays this summer (at noon on June 8 and 22, July 6 and 20, and August 3 ; and at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17.

All workshop sessions will be held at the Emy Frentz Arts Guild (523 South Second Street, Mankato). The workshops are free and open to the public. Attending all six sessions is encouraged but walk-ins are welcome every week, and no writing experience is necessary. For more information contact or 507-387-1008.
